Projects
Como te Veo Como te Veo emerged from a three hour studio session at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) in New York in March 2010 during which dancer and photographer Mariliana Arvelo and I conversed in flamenco, modern dance, improvisation, music, photography and film. We decided to create an archive of our conversations as part of an exploration of seeing; how we see whilst not being seen; how we see but do not look; how the different art forms reveal facets of ourselves that remain to be explored. How I see you says just as much about me as it does about you. Even if I continue to look, I may never truly understand who, what and when it is that I am seeing. For further information go to www.arveloflamenco.com.
Music through Movement This is an archive of footage of dancers who have accompanied my search to understand other dimensions of music through dance.
